Every one of our network facilities has achieved accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI). JCI is the international arm of the not-for-profit Joint Commission.
The Joint Commission has been in existence for over 50 years. Today, it is the largest accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. It surveys nearly 20,000 health care programs through a voluntary accreditation process. It's dedicated to improving the quality and safety of health care services.
JCI standards and evaluation methods are developed by health care experts from around the world and tested in various countries. They focus on reducing risks and creating a culture of patient safety. JCI measures the quality of patient care from the time a patient enters a facility to the time he or she leaves. The organization uses the data to plan and implement changes for better health care experiences.
Patient Satisfaction
Most of the hospitals in our network collect satisfaction information from patients who had overnight stays. They use this information to continually improve the patient experience in their facilities.
When patients were asked if they would definitely recommend the hospital to others, 91.2 percent of the patients discharged from Companion Global Healthcare network hospitals answered "Yes." This compares with a score of 68 percent from American hospitals participating in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey during 2008 - 2009.
